One of the busiest times of the year for landscaping and lawn maintenance is Fall.

Below is a Fall checklist that will help you prepare for the cold season while keeping home looking its best:

– Check on your perennials and remove any dead leaves and flowers

– Plant fall mums and other fall annuals for a festive display

– Aerate any compacted lawn areas to allow nutrients to flow freely to the root system

– Overseed your lawn to promote new growth and a thicker lawn

– Continue to apply appropriate lawn fertilizer

– Check for insects and diseases, treat if necessary

– Remove dead and fallen leaves from lawn and planting beds

– Trim back ornamental grasses after they turn brown for better growth in the spring

– Shut down and winterize irrigation systems and any water features

– Clean gutters and drains of any leaves and debris
